[NOTE: Many of us, once we've arrived
at Life's 'Back Nine,' find ourselves, at least physicially, on a downhill
slide from which there seems to be no recovery. Exercise has
become a fading memory, while weight increases its uncomfortable
presence, and our deteriorating condition begins to 'speak' to us in
ways we can no longer ignore. Still, we lack the motivation to break
out of our lethargy, and reclaim the healthier being we can
still recall having been. As so often happens after one qualifies for
membership in AARP (the American Association of Retired Persons),
it takes the medical emergency of a loved one or close friend to
snap us back to attention, vis a vis our own deteriorating health and
well-being. Such was the case with one of America's premier, career
soldiers--a former Airborne-Ranger from the Army's elite Special
Forces, finally relaxing after a lifetime of service to his country, into
a Hawaiian retirement with his wife. Here is his story, written one
month after completing FCI's 30-day Program, which he'd begun, as
do so many his age, with the healthy skepticism he'd developed over
his first six decades.]
"Dennis: Now that the fast is about one
month behind me, it is time to give you an after-action status report.
I started to say testimonial, but that word is really not in my
vocabulary. I think perhaps for your readers, the first thing to
understand is that I was very skeptical about your Program.
Because FCI requires a fee, and with so much fraud today, I was
concerned about a ripoff. I was also skeptical about the claims.
However, all of the claims came true.
"At age 60, with some aches and pains,
and starting to put on weight, I even found myself huffing and puffing
after very little physical activity. I knew it was time to do something
about my condition. Nevertheless, I could not find the
motivation. Suddenly, within two weeks, two of my friends, both 60
and retired from the Army, had to have angioplasty procedures. That
shock made my decision easy. I got on the Net, started a
search, and found FCI. My objective was to lose weight and get back
into shape. I was trying to find the guy who used to be "200 lbs. of
rompin' stompin' airborne hell and romance." I had no interest in
spirituality or antitoxins.
"Even though I was unsure about FCI, I
did sign up. The data arrived immediately by FedEx. I had several
false starts, because my social calendar kept getting in the way. I
felt I had to partake at dinners and other social functions. However, I
changed all of that by finally just telling myself: 'Get with it, George!'
Thus, having finally put my priorities in order, I completed the
transition, and started the fast. This guy Dennis kept the e-mail
humming, including data about fasting and what was happening to my
body. The more I read, the more engrossed I became.
"Soon, I was fully into this fast, without
any hunger, and the pounds started rolling off. The sky
seemed to be clearer, and our island seemed to have a beauty that
had been missing for years. Could it be that this old Airborne-Ranger,
Special Forces guy was losing his grip, and becoming caught up in
this spiritual hocus-pocus? About that time, after some tacit e-mail
with Dennis, I found out that he had also been an 82d Airborne
Division trooper in his younger days. In fact, we were most likely in
the All-American Division at the same time. After that, the fraternal
trust with Dennis was absolute.
"Everything that Dennis said
would happen did happen. I followed the fast in every detail,
including its suggestion to exercise moderately, which I am still
following (now walking a brisk 30 mins. each day, plus back to
working out 60 mins. every other day). Now that I've completed the
fast, I can assure you that you will never regret doing it. The most
amazing thing was that I had no hunger! To my friends, I now say:
'You must do yourself one of the biggest favors in your life;
send FCI your payment and get with the Program. You will loose as
much weight as you want; feel better than when you were half your
present age, and have a clear mind--unencumbered. All I can say is
do it! It is easy. You will thank yourself 1000
times.
"During the fast, my wife and I had the
opportunity to attend two large formal dinners, plus three cocktail
parties. Not one morsel of food entered my mouth, I might add, much
to the amazement of those few who knew. While mingling, I carried a
glass of orange juice, just to appear social, and during dinner, just
moved the salad around and later had the server pick it up.
Interestingly, no one realized it had gone uneaten, so I used the
same ruse with the main course. My spouse fully supported my fast;
had she not, it could have been difficult for me. Whenever we
traveled, I just took my juice along. The Program was worth
every penny. Also, I got onboard with the
Program's/Dennis's suggestion to avoid chemically-toxic
produce/foods whenever possible, and have found a good organic
food store.
"I hope this is helpful. Seldom can we do
something for ourselves. Doing the FCI juice-fast was the best thing I
have done for myself in years. I have recommended the Program to
friends, and if you know of someone on the fence or in doubt, feel
free to have him or her e-mail me (through FCI). And Dennis, thanks
for staying with me; you did a great job! Aloha, George F. Vickers"
